Tremendous Team Canidae Effort Results in Baja 500 Finish

June 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Unfortunately,  transmission trouble suddenly struck the team at the 157 mile marker. A tremendous effort by the Team Canidae support crew managed to replace the transmission and with Scott Gailey taking over driving duties and Johnny Stroschein navigating, Team Canidae was able to get back on the course and complete the infamous race. Special thanks goes out to Steve Thomas, Brian Hoag, Terry Wasloskas, Matt Wasloskas, Shawn Elliot, Daran Rupp, Carl Boley, Greg Henley, and Charlie Brown. Their fast acting and quick response helped minimize down time for the transmission replacement in the desert.

This was the 43rd running of the Baja 500, the second-oldest desert race in the world. The race begins in Ensenada and takes drivers over almost 500 miles of some of the roughest terrain offroad racing has to offer. Only 62% of the entrants in this year's race were able to cross the finish line.

Next up for Team Canidae is the Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno race this August 17-21 in Nevada.
