Toyota Camry Lakewood owners are proud of the environmental award that was recently bestowed on Toyota. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized the commitment that Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA) has made to protect the environment. At a special ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 12th, the EPA gave the company its 2011 ENERGY STAR® Sustained Excellence Award.
Toyota has demonstrated its commitment to the environment by taking a leadership role in using energy efficiency and management as a means of protecting the environment. Lakewood used cars dealer, Gateway Toyota, is proud that Toyota is one of a select group of organizations that have been chosen to receive the EPA’s 2011 Sustained Excellence Award. These organizations have shown outstanding leadership for many years.
Elizabeth Craig, acting director of EPA’s Office of Atmospheric Programs, said, “TEMA’s long term leadership and commitment to energy efficiency demonstrates the types of accomplishments that we can all achieve in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting our global environment.”
Robin Haugen, TEMA’s production engineering general manager, stated, “Our objective is to manufacture vehicles in harmony with the environment which takes a great level of responsibility and commitment.”
Lakewood used cars dealer, Gateway Toyota, would like its Toyota Camry customers to know that changes made at Toyota’s manufacturing facilities have reduced CO2 emissions by nearly 150,000 metric tons.
