By: ISDIP

June 6, 2011 - PRLog -- CARY, NC – The International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals (ISDIP), the first comprehensive global association for the diversity and inclusion field, spanning all industries and sectors, forms a strategic partnership with the Diversity and Inclusion group of the Human Capital Development Programs of the Cornell University ILR School to create a Diversity and Inclusion Research Institute.  The strategic partnership will also continue to expand the Cornell Diversity Management Certificate and Certification programs to sites outside of New York City.

Until now, the Diversity and Inclusion Program has rarely co-branded with another organization.  This strategic partnership illustrates the significance of the ISDIP as the first comprehensive global professional association that spans across industries and across public and private sectors. The ISDIP will serve as the exclusive co-sponsor of the Diversity and Inclusion Research Institute and as a new partner in developing regional programming sites.  The initial locations for the regional sites will be announced at a later date at www.isdip.org and www.ilr.cornell.edu/mgmtprog/dm  and will align with some of the locations of the International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals’ Regional Diversity and Inclusion Directors.

The Diversity and Inclusion Research Institute will focus on industry-driven research topics that will allow practitioners, scholars, and managers greater access to research findings related to workforce diversity, supplier diversity, community engagement, and organizational development.

“This historic strategic partnership is phenomenal. We are very grateful and excited to be affiliated with an Ivy League University that is also a leader in professional development and diversity certification,” says Cassandra D. Caldwell, Ph.D., founder and chief executive officer of the International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals. “The Diversity and Inclusion Research Institute and the geographic expansion of the Cornell University Diversity Management program offerings will elevate the diversity and inclusion profession by bringing world-class certification opportunities to diversity and inclusion professionals across the nation.”

Members of the International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals will benefit by:

● Gaining access to cutting-edge research: The Diversity and Inclusion Research Institute will draw globally from university faculty and practitioners with terminal degrees to facilitate and publish industry-driven research.

● Getting exclusive course discounts: International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals Members will receive an exclusive 10% discount during their first year of membership for Cornell University Diversity Management  classes offered in New York City.

“I’m very excited to embark upon this new relationship with the ISDIP.  The opportunity to meet and collaborate with fellow diversity professionals is an important one for all of us in the field, and the ISDIP provides a valuable new opportunity for this,” said Laura S. Hertzog, Esq., Director of the Diversity and Inclusion Programs.

Cornell’s Diversity and Inclusion Program is also a sponsor of the International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals’ Inaugural Conference, April 24 - 27, 2012, in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. For more information on this conference, visit www.isdip.org.
