The 'Trabasack' is a unique new product, the name was created and comes from the latin words for 'table and bag'. It has become a truly inclusive product as it it is used by people of all ages and abilities and has many ergonomic features that make it easy to use.

One of its main uses is for wheelchair and powerchair users as wheelchair tray and bag. This is not surprising as the designer of Trabasack was Clare Edwards, who is a wheelchair user herself after having a spinal injury. After many years of not being able to find a level surface for drinks and food, Clare designed prototypes of trabasack on her sewing machine.

Now Trabasack is also being used as a general laptop bag, and for students, musicians, commuters, crafts, sketching and for children and adults in cars. It is also used by people with communication devices to carry and support their assisstive technology and by gamers with disabilities using adapted controllers.

Its unique design and many ergonomic features were recognised by a panel of industry specialists and Occupational Therapists when Trabasack won an Independent Living Design Award from the British Healthcare Trades Association in December 2009.  Since then the design and the company behind it, Equip-able Ltd. have won several other awards. Husband and wife team, Duncan and Clare Edwards will both be at the show and are very active on social media for those who would like to find out more about Trabasack.
