The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Hits the SC Coast for the GNCGA Junior Shootout at Grande Dunes RC

The HJGT announces the June 25-26 Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy Junior Shootout at Grande Dunes RC in Myrtle Beach, SC. The tournament will be ranked by the SCJGA and will consist of four age divisions. Check out hjgt.org for more information.
 
June 6, 2011 - PRLog -- The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) will drive to Myrtle Beach, SC for the Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy Junior Shootout on June 25-26, 2011. The event will be played at the Resort Club at Grande Dunes, which has recently been named the “National Golf Course of the Year” by the National Golf Course Owners Association of America. The tournament’s title sponsor is the Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy, whose mission is to teach every student how to consistently tap into his or her fullest golf and personal potential.

The HJGT has been to the Resort Club at Grande Dunes once before for the Myrtle Beach Junior Open on June 19-20, 2010. In that event, Andrew Harvey of Murrels Inlet, SC shot four under on Sunday and finished at -3 (73+68=141) for the tournament to win the Boys 15-19 division by two strokes. In the Girls 14-19 division, Courtney Boe of Bluffton, SC secured a two stroke victory with a total score of +5 (76+73=149).

Juniors will compete over 36-holes of stroke play in one of five age divisions: Boys 15-19, Boys 13-14, Boys 10-12, Girls 14-18, or Girls 10-13. This event will be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS) and South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA). New for 2011, any first-time player who registers for the HJGT will be able to play in his or her first event for only $99! Also, any player who registers for a College Bound Membership with the HJGT will be able to play in his or her first tournament of 2011 for just $99! And remember, any HJGT player who refers a new player to the tour will receive a 12-pack of Nike One Tour D HJGT Logo golf balls for free!

   The Grande Dunes Resort Club is an 18-hole golf course is one of the nicest in the Palmetto State. Its spectacular layout, a Roger Rulewich Group design, is positioned on a high bluff creating a spectacular view of the Intracoastal Waterway, Grande Dunes Marina and the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. This Myrtle Beach golf course itself is known for its superior links-style design, which offers expansive Bermuda grass fairways with subtle undulations onto large, modestly contoured L-93 bentgrass greens.
