June 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Guida’s Milk, celebrating their 125th year in the dairy industry, is proud to announce they are once again hosting the 25th Annual BIAC / Guida’s Milk Golf Tournament at Lyman Orchards Golf Course on June 10th in Middlefield, CT.  Proceeds from the charitable golf tournament will help benefit the Brain Injury Association of Connecticut (BIAC).

The BIAC continues to work hard to ensure brain injury survivors, their families, and those who care for them have access to the resources required for optimal recovery and full community inclusion.  In addition, the BIAC works to reduce both the number and the severity of brain injuries by increasing public awareness and understanding through outreach and educational opportunities.  All of these positive opportunities are dependent on funds raised through this tournament.

Guida’s Milk has been passionately involved with the BIAC for many years.  Most recently in the past six years they’ve becoming presenting sponsors for the fund raising golf tournament.  This organization is extremely meaningful to the Guida Family as both Alexander and Michael Guida are brain injury survivors and are living proof that with the right care and knowledge it is possible to overcome the setbacks suffered due to brain injury.  Michael Guida stated, “I’m excited about this year’s tournament.  Traumatic brain injury stays under the radar and people don’t realize how many people are affected by these injuries. A good portion of brain injuries involve young people, which is part of our future.  I am extremely excited about this year’s response but we always need more.”

Last year, Guida’s Milk and the BIAC rose over $100,000 at the golf event.  They wish to exceed that at this year’s tournament.  Many local companies are showing their support towards the event by providing donations to be raffled off.  These donations include gift cards, event tickets, golf clubs and airline tickets.  Guida's Milk SUPERCOW, a modern-day superhero striving towards good nutrition, will also be in attendance.  The event should provide a fun and relaxing day for all who participate.  More importantly, participants will leave knowing they contributed to a very worthy cause.
