Follow on Google News | Newport Announces New Attenuator Design for 818 Series Photodetectors• New design features a 10mm clear aperture attenuator to improve alignment to the input optical beam and enhance product performance.
By: Marlene Moore The low-power (calibrated levels from pW to 2W) 818 series detectors operate from 200 to 1800 nm and feature matching patented, removable OD3 attenuators for each photodetector. The detector and the attenuator serial numbers are carefully matched to ensure NIST traceability. For added user convenience, all detectors are available with a full-spectrum calibration report detailing detector responsivity in 10 nm increments, measured with and without the attenuator. The low-power 818 series photodetectors are made with highest quality semiconductor materials, including silicon, UV-enhanced silicon, germanium, and indium gallium arsenide. Newport’ in-house calibration facility performs excellent calibration or recalibration services, further improving the absolute accuracy of all detector products.
