New Company in Maryland Gives College-Bound Students a Professional Tour of Their Major

June 3, 2011 - PRLog -- TEMPLE HILLS, MD — Wilson Bradley Career Co., a start-up in the Washington, DC metropolitan area dedicated to helping students choose a career path based on in-depth knowledge, first-hand experience, and interactions with successful professionals in their desired field, has opened registration for its premier program, Tour of Majors.  Registration will be open until July 5, 2011.  Tour rotations for majors in accounting, law, hospitality, marketing, and physical therapy will begin on July 11, 2011.    

Unlike an internship that usually takes place not sooner than two years into college, Tour of Majors is a 4-week career camp that allows students to experience their field of interest before even applying to college.  Wilson Bradley's Tour of Majors program gives first hand insight to college-bound students by having them work various locations representing their field of choice from different angles.  Prior to assigning students to tours, Wilson Bradley will hold a required orientation to identify the many ways career choices impact lives, encourage students to consider all aspects of a career and weigh them in accordance to their life’s goals, and serve as mentor and support in helping students to choose the right major.    

Studies have shown that an estimated 50 percent of U.S. college students are unsure about their career path and 62 percent who enroll in community college are seeking a career change.  Wilson Bradley created Tour of Majors to assist college-bound students in choosing their desired career wisely by shadowing a professional that is already established in the field.  Students will have the opportunity to rotate with the following companies that have partnered with Wilson Bradley and have committed their professionals:  Absolute Rehabilitation Therapy, Aoun and Stanford Law Firm, Gatewood, Hampton Inn, Healing Hands Physical Therapy Services, V Paul & Associates, and Whittaker & Associates.
