Energy and water efficiencies boost sales at Rockrose in Carlsbad

Rockrose at The Foothills by Brookfield Homes continues its status as the best selling detached new home neighborhood in Carlsbad.

June 2, 2011 - PRLog -- With 19 homes sold year to date in 2011, Brookfield’s Rockrose at The Foothills continues its status as the best selling detached new home neighborhood in Carlsbad.

With new homes ranging from 2,116 to 3,875 square feet and with three to four bedrooms in single- and two-story plans, the eco-savvy new homes at Rockrose are now priced from $596,900 with up to $10,000 in incentives.

“Quality and value are the messages that resonate with homebuyers at Rockrose,” said Lora Heramb, vice president of sales and marketing for Brookfield Homes. “Because we’ve set a new standard for water and energy efficiencies, our homeowners are realizing important savings on their utility and water bills.”

According to a survey titled “What Today’s U.S. Home Buyers Want,” published by AvidBuilder.com on April 4, 2011, “Energy efficiency is no longer an upgrade in the mind of a home buyer; it’s not on the wish list for homebuyers in 2011 – it is on the ’must‘ list.”

Every home at Rockrose exceeds California’s energy standards by at least 35 percent and is pre-plumbed for solar hot water. Other standard features include tankless water heaters, high-efficiency furnaces with Merv 8 filters, WaterSense faucets, low VOC carpets and paints, water sensitive landscaping, and hot water re-circulating lines.

These measures provide Rockrose homeowners with savings of more than $1,000 per year on electricity costs, according to Energy Efficiency in New Construction: Bill Analysis released by San Diego Gas & Electric.

“We’ve made it easy for our homeowners to save precious resources like water and energy and enjoy the savings that come with these eco-savvy features,” added Heramb.

Rockrose homeowners also enjoy quality design. The Carlsbad single-family homes are among the Top 8 best-selling home designs in the nation, according to Professional Builder Magazine. (http://www.housingzone.com/professional-builder/article/8...)

Rockrose is situated in a prime location, within walking distance to a new state-of-the-art high school currently under construction and just four miles from the beach.
