June 2, 2011 - PRLog -- SpectraMD USA Inc. announces the launch of the Meaningful Use Meter™, a Software as a Service (SaaS) application that measures, manages, tracks and reports on Meaningful Use Compliance and Clinical Quality Measure (CQM) results of electronic health record (EHR) technology at the individual, practice, organization and population levels. The Meaningful Use Meter™ also helps individual providers automate the process of demonstrating and reporting Meaningful Use Compliance.

Features and functionalities of the Meaningful Use Meter™ include:
•   All Stage 1 Meaningful Use Criteria are implemented into the application
•   Consolidated compliance status data across multiple providers and practices
•   Auto-populated dashboards with built-in interfaces to EHRs and HIEs
•   The ability to capture compliance periods for comparison
•   Tailored remediation recommendations for all Stage 1 Meaningful Use Criteria
•   Upgrades that incorporate Stages 2 and 3 of meaningful use
•   Configurable based on organization structure, including role based privacy and security
•   Reports of compliance and guidance for criteria exclusions by provider specialty

The Meaningful Use Meter™ is a continuum of SpectraMD’s education, assessment and analytics programs, integrating with their online platform EHRConnect™. Included in this platform are the Practice Assessment Program™ and the Meaningful Use Practice Assessment Program™, which automate the process of conducting Meaningful Use Compliance and EHR readiness assessments at physician practices, and provider and practice educational programs on EHR adoption, Meaningful Use Compliance and Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMHs). These solutions form a complete suite of resources for Meaningful Use Compliance and Accountable Care.

SpectraMD is also in discussions to conduct Meaningful Use Meter™ pilot programs with a handful of Regional Extension Centers (RECs), health systems and EHR vendors. These pilots will serve to further enhance and expand on the functionalities of the Meaningful Use Meter™.

“Compliance with Meaningful Use Criteria is at the forefront of the health care industry’s transition to EHRs,” said Raj Lakhanpal, MD, FRCS, FACEP, and CEO of SpectraMD. “The Meaningful Use Meter™ was developed in response to the need for clarification and guidance in demonstrating Meaningful Use Compliance. It is an easy-to-use tool that all members of the health care industry, from executives to individual providers, can utilize.”
