June 2, 2011 - PRLog -- The INAA.com Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards are taking place in Glasgow on the 12th June at the Marriot Hotel.

The nominees have been shortlisted as a result of a flood of nominations from the public nationwide, eager to ensure that their favourite hair stylists and beauticians do not go unnoticed and are rewarded for their hard work and talent. With the shortlist announced, there will be a flurry of excitement among the contenders eager to win on the night.

The face of the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards 2011 is Joanne Reid, founder and Managing Director of INAA.com who is also the title sponsor of the Awards ceremony and co-hosting on the night will be Josie Smith, a well known Scottish fashion and media personality.

Founded in 2009, INAA.com has become a successful, leading UK web based media business, operating within the Hair and Beauty sector. INAA.com is hailed as the first online booking website specialising in bringing both clients and salons together.  Joanne Reid said “Recognising a gap in the market, I spotted the potential to create a portal that brings together both salon and client. The fact that the Scottish hair industry alone is worth £500 million in turnover suggests its importance (1).” Joanne continues, “INAA.com is a way for salons to promote themselves to customers, perhaps out with their geographical location and physical constraints. Being the face of the first INAA.com Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards is not only a great honour, it is also a perfect fit with INAA.com allowing salons and beauticians to be supportive of their industry and reward those whose achievements should not go unnoticed.” This growing marketing tool for salons has been successful, with 300 salons now available to book through the INAA website.  As such, INAA.com continues to grow with plans to expand throughout the UK.

Josie Smith writes a satirical column for No.1 Magazine, called ‘No.1 Bitch’, which has been positively received by the readers of Scotland’s top woman’s glossy for over three years. Josie has a strong interest in fashion, penning a style column for international dance music magazine ‘Electronica’. She is also a successful model, having modelled extensively for over ten years. Using her knowledge of the industry, she is now behind the camera, scouting new talent with Superior Model Management and the Elect Agency, and styling for Elect’s clients. No stranger to the microphone, Josie comperes and DJs regularly throughout the UK. A confident presenter, Josie co-hosted Radio Clyde’s show ‘The King in LA’ with Ross King and worked at ‘Glam in the City’ with TV personality Gok Wan. No doubt, this experience has propelled her career into television having recently signed with STV to present ‘The Nightshift’. A staunch supporter of Cancer Research, she is a familiar face at the ‘Race for Life’ events.

With their expertise, knowledge and flair for fashion and beauty, these two ladies are more than equipped in their involvement with the INAA.com Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards 2011 and will both bring added class and sophistication to what is surely already going to be a very glitzy event.

The Awards, organised by Creative Oceanic (2) will be held at the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow on the 12th June 2011, and promises to be a glamorous, fun-filled evening celebrating hair and beauty salons around Scotland, ensuring that their hard work and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed. Given the upsurge in interest and excitement surrounding the event triggered by word of mouth and online Facebook campaign (3), it is set to become a key date in any salons calendar.
