June 2, 2011 - PRLog -- The June, 2011 issue of Airplanista Magazine features a photo spread by Colorado aerial photographer Jim Wark, presenting a series of images he shot of his beloved Husky A-1 airplane at numerous scenic locations from Alaska to the Caribbean. The piece, along with the story of how and why Wark shot the photographs, is entitled “Man’s Best Friend.”
"Each month, our magazine presents the work of an aviation photographer that our readers may be meeting for the first time” said Airplanista Editor/Publisher Dan Pimentel. “I had not heard of Jim Wark before he contacted me. When I saw this collection of images he shot of his Husky on the beach in Baja, or alongside a lake in British Columbia or Alaska, I knew we had to get him in the June issue.”
Wark shot the images on Velvia slide film before scanning to digital format. This choice of film produced perfectly-exposed images loaded with rich, colorful saturation, containing backgrounds that are some of the most scenic locations to land an airplane in North and Central America.
