Young Americans Center for Financial Education offers young entrepreneurs competition

Young Americans Center for Financial Education is seeking young Colorado business owners ages 6-21 for the 10th annual Celebration for Young Entrepreneurs. Businesses can range from lawn mowing to jewelry making and almost everything in between.
 
June 1, 2011 - PRLog -- DENVER, CO — Young Americans Center for Financial Education (http://www.yacenter.org), a nonprofit organization headquartered in Denver that teaches financial and work skills to 40,000 youth every year, is seeking young business owners for the 10th annual Celebration for Young Entrepreneurs. This unique competition is for entrepreneurs, ages 6-21, who own and run a business in Colorado. Businesses can range from lawn mowing and pet care to jewelry making and photography, and almost everything in between.

Winners receive $1,000 and finalists receive $250 to be used for business or education. In addition, winners will be paired with a Presenting Mentor – a businessperson from the community who is willing to share business advice and encouragement.

The deadline to apply is Friday, June 17, 2011. A panel of independent judges will then read the applications and select one winner and two finalists from three age categories.

Winners, finalists and all applicants will be invited to the Celebration for Young Entrepreneurs dinner and awards ceremony on September 15, 2011, at the Seawell Grand Ballroom at the Denver Center for Performing Arts in Denver.
