Reading with TLC Announces Lively Letters Uppercase Book

June 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Reading with TLC, a company that offers a multi-sensory program on phonics with proven success as a core reading curriculum in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 2, and as an intervention program for students of all ages, announces the availability of the Lively Letters Uppercase Book, a new product designed to strengthen and reinforce the reading skills of pre-school children.

The Lively Letters Uppercase Book features 26 uppercase characters with colorful cues to match the corresponding Lively Letters lowercase letters that, since their inception in 1990, have been recognized for generating dramatic improvements in reading scores.  The highly interactive uppercase book also includes suggestions for teaching the letter names.

Lively Letters, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, is a proprietary Reading with TLC program that turns abstract letters and sounds into “lively” characters by illustrating how readers should shape their mouths to make specific speech sounds; the powerful yet fun program provides picture cues to assist students in reading and spelling multi-syllable words.

Recognized as a building block of successful reading, the Reading with TLC program seeks to underscore findings by The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development indicating that prevention and early intervention with appropriate methods in grades K-3 decreases the number of special education referrals and that for 90 to 95% of poor readers, early intervention can increase skills to average levels.
