June 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Nav Trainer provides training for VOR, HSI, RMI, ADF, ILS and DME instrument navigation. The users are presented with a graphic display of an aircraft’s position on a map and profile views. They can then see how the navigation instruments are affected by dragging the aircraft or ground station around.
With the “Fly!” mode, the users can practice intercepting, tracking and homing toward the station — or just fly around for fun. The test mode helps improve the pilot’s situational awareness and speed. It shows several aircraft on the screen and asks the user to select the correct aircraft among them, based on the navigation displays.
New features added since the first version:
Wind control.
Aircraft tracing (contrail).
Test mode is now continuous.
Device accelerometers support for the fly mode.
Improved performance and memory usage.
Improved graphics.
Nav Trainer is now available from Apple’s App Store for $4.99 in the U.S. and is priced accordingly in other regions worldwide.
