June 1, 2011 - PRLog -- When I received this email back in January, I first thought it was a bit of a joke - but I have to say I was also intrigued.

It came via our website enquiry form and said this

I am on Twitter as deanthemidas, thanks for your message this morning.

I am wondering if we can team up for a small feature regarding my work predicting on Reality TV shows and some of the acts I have supported over the years and since become good friends with.

I had never heard of DeantheMidas Maynard and I had certainly never heard of anyone predicting the fortune of reality TV shows. So - I thought - I need to find out a bit more about this man, because it could make something really interesting for the website.  As a working Mum running the website from a laptop in my living room with my friend Angie, we are always looking for something different to publish.

So - I emailed him back and asked to hear a bit more about him.

Turns out Dean the Midas Maynard is quite an interesting man - and - as I have since found out - really nice with it too!

I asked him - simply - to tell me a little about himself.

He told us

"I live in County Durham although I am originally from Reading, Berkshire. I am finding notoriety via my Reality TV & Sports predictions. To date my Reality TV record stands at 24 acts out of 28 finishing in the top 4 or higher, this includes 11 Winners. 4 of these were in 2010.

I use my unusual ability to both provide predictions and support by drawing luck towards a chosen recipient. Though my methods may seem extraordinary, my rate of success speaks for itself.

Last year I was featured in the official X-Factor magazine on 2 occasions and had numerous national features on Sky & ITV.

I have also remained unbeaten in 4 years against a team of professional tipsters at the Grand National and I was part of the Bring Back Beckham campaign as well as many other sporting events.

I am also a respected Ghost hunter with many successful vigils to my name and I appeared on the Lakes in January.

I do tonnes and tonnes for charities and get involved with as many helpful causes as possible. "


So - not only does he have a lot of fun, media attention and different experiences - he also raises money for charity.

We talked a bit more and we decided that who better to lead our Britians Got Talent Coverage this year but Dean!  And what a great job he has done - each week he has commented on the auditions and given a good summary to our readers.

But - best of all - he announced his prediction for the winner on our website.  And a brave move it was too - he announced it on Monday - even before all the semi finals had taken place.

And - much to our joy/amazement/delight - the act that Dean is backing went through to the Final - Ronan - the much loved boy singer.


We cant wait to see if he wins or not - and if he does, Dean will have another reality show prediction to add to his portofolio.


Quite Amazing..........and happen to have him.

So as we approach the last show before the start of the live semi finals I would just like to give out my own ‘Midas’ audition awards ...





... AND announce my official 2011 Britain’s got talent ‘Midas’ act.

Before I go on, I would like to welcome back the boss man, Mr Simon Cowell. Welcome Sir, it’s great to see you back.

Proud to be British award:  This has to go to the fantastic 7 year old Olivia Binfield who enthralled us with her pet snake ‘Lucy’.  This girl’s genuine love of animals was a delight to see.

Sharing the award is teenage rapper act, Follow the right path. Their tribute to their late grandad was emotional and these kids are great models for teenagers everywhere.

I was not expecting that award:  Pip and Buddy win this because I have to admit I was expecting this to be awful, but it was brilliant. Pip has one of the best voices I have ever heard on the show and some might say she is quite attractive (not me though Mrs Midas)

Funniest audition award: This was a close one but Mexican Mayhem and the one dog doing the tricks and one not wanting too was very funny.

I shouldnt like them but I do award: Has to go to Ted and Grace, a likeable grandfather who once made spitfires for a living and his lovely grand daughter, Grace. On paper this should not work, but it does and I wish them loads of luck.


They can do what they want award: Grace and Chloe Bruce the martial art sisters, well would you argue with them. Exactly

Best segment montage:  Michael McIntyre wins this with his genuine hate of buzzing people off, every time he pushed it, he looked in a different place, as if he was saying “that wasn’t me”  

The ones to watch award: I think these are the acts that will seriously challenge my Midas act at the live shows.  Michael Collings, James Hobley and my dark horse is magic act, David and Karen.

So here we are then, the moment has arrived for me to name the act I think will win BGT 2011.

Before I do, I will say that this has been my hardest ever choice and I have had to review all the previous episodes again.

The person I am supporting and making my official ‘Midas’ act is...Ronan Parke.
