Colonial Williamsburg Provides Fun, Affordable Summer Vacations with Value-Loaded Packages

With summer on the horizon, travelers’ thoughts turn to long summer days and family getaways.  Colonial Williamsburg’s value-loaded Summer Bounce Package starts at $263 per night for a four-day, three-night stay for a family of four. It includes accommodations at the Williamsburg Woodlands, an Official Colonial Williamsburg Hotel, along with admission to Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area and Art Museums, and nearby Busch Gardens and Water Country USA.

Summer is the ideal time for families to discover Colonial Williamsburg’s new seasonal offerings, from evening events in the Historic Area to special activities for hotel guests, and hands-on programs at nearby Great Hopes Plantation. The Summer Bounce Package is available June 17-September 1, 2011 and pricing is based on a three-night stay at the Williamsburg Woodlands in a standard guest room for two adults and two children (under 17) with Sunday–Tuesday arrival. Pricing varies with room type and arrival date.

For romantic getaways, the Summer Stories Package is an affordable option. This three-day, two-night package starts at $99 per person, per night, and includes:
•   Nightly accommodations at the Williamsburg Lodge, an Official Colonial Williamsburg Hotel
•   Daily breakfast, including gratuity
•   Colonial Williamsburg Length-of-Stay ticket for the Historic Area and Art Museums
•   $100 activities card

Package pricing is based on double occupancy and a two-night stay with Sunday–Wednesday arrival at the Williamsburg Lodge in a superior guest room. Pricing varies with room type and arrival date.

The activities card may be applied toward the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg, dining in Colonial Williamsburg’s taverns or restaurants, or shopping at an official, on-site Colonial Williamsburg store.  

This summer, Colonial Williamsburg’s new programs, art exhibitions, golf courses and dining menus will engage visitors through historic and contemporary settings. When the sun sets, the Historic Area is “Live after Five” with a schedule of evening programs that include interactive storytelling, dinner at the Chowning’s Tavern’s beer garden, musical performances, and walking tours.

Special culinary events are also available to visitors and locals alike and include a delicious array of interactive pairing and tasting activities conducted by chefs from the Williamsburg Inn and the Williamsburg Lodge.
