June 1, 2011 - PRLog -- The Google +1 button is the latest feature developed by the search giant to allow buyers to like or recommend websites of wholesalers that they have found and enable sharing between their social networks. This network includes their friends, colleagues and business partners collated from Gmail Accounts, Google Talk, Google Contacts, Google Reader and Google Buzz. Google plans to roll this feature out to other popular social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Delicious, Plurk and other emerging social media tools.

Google +1 was launched initially to a small number of Google users on Google.com and a received a mainly positive reception. On May 31st 2011, leading tech blog, TechCrunch.com first broke the news that Google would be launching their new +1 button to the world on June 1st 2011. SearchEngineLand.com via Danny Sullivan later confirmed the reports by way of correspondence from an insider source at Google. Sullivan who is a renowned search expert went on to state: “It remains unclear if the buttons will in turn link to any broader social sharing on Google itself.” Sullivan appears to be suggesting that the Google +1 button has a long way to go before it rivals Google’s alter-ego, Facebook, and their content sharing capabilities.

While other industries are experiencing reduced growth, the wholesale industry continues to drive forward as thousands of new prospects utilize the engines to search for new and established wholesale suppliers online. The impact of Google +1 on search results is yet to be determined but in tight social circles where trust and authority is high it’s sure to have a tremendous impact on click-through-rates.

Trade buyers who see a +1 button next to an organic or sponsored listing will most likely view this as a form of independent accreditation leaving it wide open to some abuse unless closely monitored by Google. It is highly likely that this was just one of the reasons why Google chose to keep this feature closely limited within social circles rather than launching it in a much broader sense. If you cannot trust your friends and close colleagues to recommend wholesale suppliers, just who can you trust?

"Wholesalers who do enable Google +1 will most certainly see the benefit as recommendations play a pivotal role within International trade" according to UK wholesale forum, The Wholesale Forums.

With the industry seeing trade shipments increase as we drive closer to the popular summer stock buying season, Google +1 is an essential feature for wholesalers to utilize to boost online rankings and in turn, trade sales.
