May 31, 2011 - PRLog -- The automotive displays were awe inspiring at the 2011 Carlisle Performance & Style event, held May 14-15 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds. With more than 1,300 cars on display, the WR judging team toured the grounds looking for the best-of-the-best. After a full day of searching and an afternoon of consultation and discussion, more than 50 top awards were doled out to outdoor showfield participants.

With today’s child being the future of the automotive industry, a Kids Choice award is the best way to let their voice be heard. For nearly two full days the youth in attendance had the chance to browse the Tuned in T display and make up their minds as to what vehicle was the best. After the votes were tallied, Jesse Wilson’s 1993 Dodge Stealth with a bright orange paint job took home the top prize. Wilson also took home the Best Domestic award, giving him two top accolades for the weekend.

LEDGlow lit up the Manufactures Midway and as such, asked those who support their products to do the same. Between multiple displays in the ICE House and those that displayed their neon on the showfield, LEDGlow had many options for their award. In the end, Keith Jarvis and his 2005 Mercedes C230 earned the Best in ICE House distinction. Rounding out the award winners was Kenny Vinces of Auto Concepts Elite. Vinces earned the Carlisle Best of Show award for having the best-of-the-best at Carlisle Performance & Style. His 1992 Honda Civic SIR2 was deemed to be head and shoulders above the competition, beating out over 1,300 challengers.

This year, Brent Khelawan won the Best European distinction with his 2006 Mercedes Benz CLS500 while Manny Ramdowe’s car, a 1993 Mazda RX7, took home the Top Asian prize. In addition to the awards (both foreign and domestic), Auto Concept Elite took home the top prize for having the Best Team title which was determined by both display and car quality.

The Carlisle Elite class saw seven different owners added to the exclusive club. Freddie Pagan and his 1996 Honda Civic earned the Carlisle Elite induction for best ICE. Josh Croll’s 2002 Acura RSX won best paint/body work with Anthony Care and his 2004 BMW taking best stance. Corey Dorman (1990 Chevrolet Cavalier), Brittney Schneck (1994 Dodge Caravan), Michael Perez (2006 Dodge Charger) and Dave Harry (1995 Nissan S14) also garnered recognition for having Carlisle Elite top rides.

“We had a ton of amazing cars this year,” noted event manager Patrick Lemay. “I was impressed with the quality of cars for this market of the car hobby and it gets better each year for Performance & Style. Our goal next year is to have at least one top Carlisle Elite competitor from each region of the United States and Canadian competitors.”

Performance & Style returns May 12-13, 2012 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds with a fresh and exciting schedule. Most activities are still to be determined; however, updates and additions will frequently be posted to www.carlisleevents.com.
