By: Interfaith Caregivers Trenton A free community presentation on Tuesday, June 7th offers community members a chance to learn more about the hot topic of Emotional Intelligence and the role it plays in all of our personal and professional lives. Presented by Marge Smith, the Founder and Chair of Princeton Community Works, and sponsored by Interfaith Caregivers Trenton/Faith in Action, a local nonprofit, the workshop will begin at 7:30 pm, immediately following Interfaith Caregivers’ group leader dinner at Our Lady of Sorrows School on 3816 E. State Street, Mercerville, NJ. Ms. Smith will discuss what Emotional Intelligence is and how it can enable people to be successful and build relationships. “Attendees will also learn about the emotional intelligence of optimism and how they can develop it to feel more positive about life,” she states. About Interfaith Caregivers Trenton Interfaith Caregivers Trenton, an interfaith coalition, is dedicated to promoting the independence and dignity of homebound elderly and people with disabilities by matching them with caring volunteers who assist with the tasks of everyday life. With close to 300 volunteers serving more than 300 individuals throughout Mercer County, ICT helps reduce the loneliness and isolation that often accompanies old age and disabilities. Sample services include transportation to doctor’s offices, grocery shopping, friendly visiting, respite care, light housekeeping, telephone reassurance, occasional meal preparation, indoor/outdoor chores, minor home repairs and other non-medical help that often enables the care receiver to remain in their home.
