Among the outstanding graduates is Betty Pettibone of Mountain Home. Commuting 45 miles each way, working full-time, and caring for a seriously ill husband weren’t roadblocks on Betty’s journey to graduation. With a 4.0 grade-point average and near-perfect attendance, she finishes her time at Stevens-Henager Boise with an associate in applied science degree in business management and accounting.
The commencement ceremony will bring in graduates from all across Idaho. Currently Stevens-Henager College has locations in Boise, Idaho Falls (branch of CollegeAmerica Flagstaff), and Nampa (satellite) that offer degree programs. The college also has a College Education Center in Mountain Home that provides support to students enrolled in online programs offered by its Salt Lake City/Murray affiliate in Utah. There will be 217 students in this year’s graduating class. The commencement speaker is Lynn Hoffmann, the Executive Director of the Idaho Nonprofit Center, an organization dedicated to strengthening the nonprofit sector in Idaho.
“We are tremendously proud of Betty and all of our graduates. Many have had to overcome personal challenges or obstacles like balancing school with family or work. We offer as much support as possible to our students, to help keep them committed to earning a degree and taking one step closer to a better career,” said Shane Reeder, regional director at Stevens-Henager College, Boise.
