NEW BOOK - "Being Jewish - my search for Jewish Identity"

May 29, 2011 - PRLog -- This was the book I had to write. It tells of Jewish humour, suffering, integration as against assimilation, and even a conversation with G-d.

This is the journey I had to make. From the cemetery at Whitefield's Philips Park to the frummers of Broughton Park. From Uri Geller to Alfie Bass. From Jackie Mason to the holocaust.

I had to deal with my own personal conflicts. Jewish. Not Jewish enough.Too Jewish. The breaking of the gtass under the chuppah, the shofar, the singing, the 613 commandments. What does it all mean?

It can all be very confusing when I find the concept of, for example, the Meshiach, too difficult to really and truly comprehend.

And yet I am Jewish through and through.

When I am on holiday, I search out the shule at all costs. When I go to New York, I search for the black hats and curls. And yet closer to home, I see girs with pasty grey faces marching to or from shule, and I worry for them.

This is a book about the truth. I confront nthat truth head on. I find the Jew in me. And I discover there is no escape.
