Pretzel Spot Cafe to Celebrate Official Grand Opening on June 15

June 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Carlisle, PA – Pretzel Spot Café will celebrate its official grand opening on Wednesday, June 15.  A ribbon cutting ceremony by the Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce will kick off the two-hour event, which starts at 4:15 p.m.  A variety of events will take place during the grand opening celebration.  Following the official ribbon cutting there will light refreshments, samples served from the café’s menu, prize drawings and giveaways.  Carlisle radio station WIOO Country Gold Radio will also broadcast live throughout the event.

Pretzel Spot Café is a downtown eatery with a unique twist.  Located at 320 East Louther Street, the café moved into the downstairs area of the Carlisle Ribbon Mill in November – giving the historic building new life.  The café is a joint venture by Amish pretzel maker Alvin Beiler and professionally trained chef Daneyon White.  The two met while operating separate businesses at a local farmers market.  When the farmers market closed in September 2009, Beiler and White decided to join forces.

“The thing that excites me the most about our partnership is that we have uniquely and successfully combined two worlds – new and old,” Daneyon White, Pretzel Spot Café co-owner, said.  “Alvin has brought the centuries old Amish tradition to the table, and being a professionally trained wedding and elegant event catering chef, I have been able to offer my modern twist on the menu.  Our goal is to keep using both of our strengths to continually grow and move forward.”

The Pretzel Spot Café caters to the breakfast and lunch crowds, and offers unique items from bacon/sausage/ham, egg and cheese pretzel logs to traditional Panini sandwiches and salads.  The café, which is currently open Tuesday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., is preparing to announce its extended summer hours.
