Creating A Video People Will Watch

Creating A Video, Will People Watch? All the while, remember ….. Presentation! Presentation! Presentation!

May 28, 2011 - PRLog -- ...is what matters. Your video must be visually compelling.

The soundtrack must be appropriate for the product / service you are trying to sell. The script that you are saying must be mesmerizing. If you recall the headache that you had after returning from a C-grade movie, and also recall the ecstasy you experienced after returning from an A-class movie ---- you will appreciate what I mean.

But then, who says you need to be a great movie maker on the first attempt? Practice makes perfect. Besides the overall aspect of presentation, here are a few things to work on:

How to create a Hypnotic Sales Video:

The Title of the Video:

This aspect is especially useful when you are distributing your creations to the free video-hosting sites. Besides the visitors to your site who click on the Video link to watch it, the free sites attract millions of visitors who invariably use specific keywords to search for videos of their interest.

The most relevant keywords have to be in the title. If you are aware of SEO tactics, you will immediately understand what I am saying.

Another angle to the title is that it has to be attractive enough to motivate the potential viewer to click on it to watch the content. It is like the attention-grabber headline on a newspaper in the newsstand that propels you to reach out and buy a copy.

Use a catchy title, use a crazy title, throw caution to the wind and be as creative as possible. The tile is the key to get your viewers to watch, take this seriously!

The Script:

This provides the meat to the presentation. Plan beforehand. Keep your notes ready. This ensures that you don't fumble for words while speaking into the microphone. Also remember that your potential listener has a short attention span.

So you have to be absolutely riveting to their ears if you don't want them to click on the 'X' symbol on the top right corner midway through your presentation.

Predict your target's Reactions:

Sounds once again like warfare, doesn't it? But keep an eye on how the audience is going to react in every frame of your video.

Remember, having come this long - getting somebody to negotiate through the web to reach your website, and motivating them enough to go through your video, is in itself an achievement! - you cannot leave them to their own devices.

You have to anticipate how they are going to react now that they are where you want them: watching your video.

Eliminate any fluff that may look impressive but does nothing to make that sale. You might rope in friends to critic your creation, and tell you if they find anything that doesn't vibe well.

Or you may even request an existing customer to give you feedback on the video. Do all this before the video goes live on your website. I have also come across overzealous site-owners and affiliates who keep bringing that "BUY" button bang in the middle of a presentation.

It looks so downright amateurish, if not totally insensitive. The sales pitch has to be subtle and persuasive, not in the customer's face. Keep the "BUY" button around, but not to the extent that the viewer is irritated by its presence.

Put yourself in the client's shoes: In one word, empathize. Look at the entire scenario from your client's / customer's point of view.

What has motivated them to come to your website in the first place? What need of theirs are they trying to meet through you and your website?

What will it take to satisfy their queries and concerns and doubts about the solution your video is offering?

What level of credibility and comfort are they looking for?

These are the questions that you need to pose to yourself and seek answers to.

The more your answers sound honest to you, the more likely that your video will be a great hit with the buyers!

Pour your marketing experience in the Video:

Whether it is your own product you are selling or whether it is an affiliate product, it is your perception about the market, the product's within that market, the competition that the product has to contend with, and the customer's perception about the product - that make all the difference to the sales achieved at the end of the day.

The video has to capture the essence of your experience with the product as a marketer. Address all the issues the potential customer has about the solution that your website is offering: if they are negative beliefs, address them head-on and convince, point by point, why the negative beliefs are not true and why.

If they are positive beliefs, reinforce them and create a halo around your product / service. If you are priced head-and-shoulder above the competition, justify the difference. Conversely, if you are priced dirt-cheap, convince the customer why you are cheap and still credible.

Remember that throughout the video, with each passing second, the floating images on the screen and your voice with the accompanying music in the background are drawing the customer to that all-important sales-closure. It is your grasp and knowledge of the market that will help make the closure.

The Fade-out scene: Remember, we are doing a video clip here, which is just like a TV ad. The fade-out scene, the final moments when the video is reaching its end, has to be powerful and very, very compelling.

In case the potential customer has still not made up their mind (that is, if they have not hit the "BUY" button yet), then this all-important scene will linger in their conscious mind long after they have exited your site.

The memory will bring the potential customer back to your site to watch the video again and again, and eventually, hopefully, they will hit that important "BUY" button. You may not get the sale on the first try but customers are known to return again and again to sites that interest them so they still may end up a customer and make that purchase.
