Introducing her unique art, hand-painted on cotton canvas and sewn for durability, Anderson, an American living in Costa Rica, began her entrepreneurial enterprise over thirty years ago painting on t-shirts for the growing number of tourists to the country.
Her most popular designs have withstood the test of time; visitors couldn't get enough of her artistic representations of Costa Rica's flora and fauna. Selling on the beach, then distributing to souvenir shops and stores around the country, Anderson expanded her customer base by providing her canvas bags and totes to high-end, selected, boutique hotels within Costa Rica.
Anderson's new line of canvas totes and bags combine her most popular designs: blue morpho butterfly, red-eye green tree frog, ferns and leaves and scarlet macaw along with more free-form, colorful and expressive art such as her sunburst, palm tree, mountains, and waves designs.
Working with local Costa Rican women, many of them single moms, Anderson has provided training, teaching them to prep material, sew and finish, skills that will serve these women long term. Additionally, she has grown a cottage business within this small country to include additional products for home décor, all of which display her artistic talent, keeping her team busy.
