SURFice Dog Ricochet and Little Bird You Are Perfect: A Perfect Match

May 27, 2011 - PRLog -- The day Judy Fridono, owner of Ricochet, the SURFice Dog came across a Facebook page called Little Bird You Are Perfect it resonated because her messages is "you are perfect just the way you are". And, the story was about a BIRD!! She knew then, it was fate that brought her to that page. Little Bird You Are Perfect is a children's book written by Shelley Joy. When Joy heard what Judy and Ricochet do, they quickly became good FURiends.

Ricochet was slated to be a service dog for a person with a disability, but due to her interest in chasing prey and especially birds, she had to be released from that role. She went from service dog to SURFice dog, and is now raising funds and awareness for human and animal causes. She has raised over $80,000 this past year, and continues to inspire people all over the world with her positive energy, and charitable, paw it forward lifestyle. She has an inspirational video on YouTube that went viral "From Service dog to SURFice dog" has had over 3 million views. Most people are brought to tears as it touches them on many different levels.

Little Bird You Are Perfect is a healing book for adults and a positive affirmation fairy-tale for children, that captures the positive nature of children everywhere. Shelley Joy believes that there is a bit of “Little Bird” in each of us, and that there are times that we doubt our own perfection that we are the best “me” we can be based on others’ perception of who we are, making this enchanting children’s tale, a classic for children of all ages. Different is extraordinary and perfect!

It seemed only natural that the SURFice Dog and Little Bird would team up to help reach Ricochet’s goal of collecting $100,000 and a perfect match was made. For the first 1000 books sold after May 26, 2011, Joy will donate over 25% of the proceeds to Ricochet’s Paw it Forward Foundation to help the disabled and raise awareness. An Early Childhood Educator and writer, Shelley Joy has dedicated her professional life to children and families. Her book, Little Bird You Are Perfect was recently listed on the top 100 Best Seller list for Children’s Animal books.
