Jacksons showcase their award winning garden designs

May 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Saturday 21st May saw the advent of the second Jacksons Show Gardens which officially opened with welcome fair weather. As the sun beat down a throng of on-lookers watched celebrity TV gardener Joe Swift unveil the three new gardens and the four revamped show gardens at Jacksons Fencing’s HQ in Kent.

Joe Swift went on to say about how important this show and those involved were “commitment to raising awareness of designers and quality products, whilst combining everything in an accessible package for everybody to experience, was unique in the industry, and how pleased he was to be involved for a second year running”.

Joe Swift, a seasoned expert on gardening took time to chat to the designers behind this year’s new exhibits, who are all winners of a national design challenge set by Jacksons, which invited garden designers from all over the country to demonstrate their creative genius, by developing a garden that is environmentally friendly and sustainable.  

The three winning designs: ‘The Fragrant Front Garden’ by Justine Jobson; ‘The Chill Out Garden’ by Helen Elks-Smith and ‘The Paradise Garden’ by Mary Ann Le May.

We caught up with one of the winning designers, Helen Elks-Smith who was delighted to be part of the festivities and even happier to have won such an accolade.
“It is wonderful to be around such talent and even better to see so many people come and benefit from their garden ideas too. These gardens aren’t just to look at, they were designed and built with usage in mind, for everyone to enjoy. I hope this show will help inspire others in their gardens in a way that can capture a very personal, private yet practical space”.

The Jacksons showcase gardens are open to the public, year round, allowing visitors who have never had the chance before, ample opportunity to see a show garden and get inspiration for their own garden projects.

The Show Gardens are open to visitors during Jackson’s usual opening hours at the fencing company’s Head Office site in Kent.
