No End To The World In May

May 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Harold Camping and his followers were totally convinced that the biblical rapture would happen on the 21st May.

Aided by modern technology, Camping claimed he had cracked open the mystery date of the return of Jesus Christ to earth. It would all begin with massive earthquakes that would create destruction worldwide and only believers would be saved.

Playing only church music Camping’s family radio was strangely quiet on May 22nd. The website finally crashed with the amount of traffic trying to gain access to it.

Camping's daughter said in a statement “He’s bewildered, since he was so convinced.” Camping later claimed his prediction has been accurate all along. The Judgement Day manifested in a spiritual sense rather than physically. This he claims will continue right up to Oct 21st, 2011.

Camping firmly claims all his prophecies have been fulfilled: May 21, 1988, judgment came upon the churches; Sept. 7, 1994, judgment continued on the churches; then on May 21, 2011, judgment came globally.

Does that signify that Camping is about to give away his $86 million in assets?
This is not the first time however, that the end of the world has been prophesied.

Originally Eli Eshoh predicted that the world would finish in 1998, based on his research into the Mystical Number 666. Eshoh now says “Do not fret about this. Everything is on track. The Rapture took place on June 6, 1998. The reason it wasn't noticed was that only 603,729 people were taken up, so out of a world population of 6,660,603,729 persons, it wasn't noticed. The Beast was born on June 6, 1998, and the world is entering into a period of great instability. Mark the year 2028 on your calendars!”

The Mayas stopped their calendar at 2012 AD, as they believed the world would end then.
The world would be in 2014 said Pope Leo IX in 1514. People sold their possessions and gave the money to the poor. Criminals were released from jail. Farmers ceased planting crops and hundreds of pilgrims hurried to Jerusalem to meet their Lord.

“The Christ is Now Here” a newspaper headline declared in 1982. He was reported to be living in a physical body among a group of Pakistani Indian immigrants in South London, Britain. Months afterwards a New Age religious group, TARA Centre, took out full-page adverts announcing “The delay (in the Judgement Day) was only because the consciousness of the human race was not quite right.”

Jehovah’s Witnesses declared doomsday in 1874, 1878, 1881, 1910, 1914, 1918, 1925, 1975 and 1984.

It may seem odd, but no man seems to know what hour the earth will end.
