Storyteller performs in aid of the Woodland Trust

Details of a performance event in aid of the Woodland Trust
By: Helen Sant

May 26, 2011 - PRLog -- York storyteller Helen Sant was so shocked to hear of the Government's proposal to privatise the nation's woods, that she decided to do a show dedicated to celebrating our woodland heritage.  Helen wants to take her story and poetry show round as many venues as possible, beginning with the Not Part of Festival in Manchester, in July this year at the Earth Cafe.

Her ninety minute show will merge folklore and legend with facts and performance poetry, involving the audience at intervals.  People are invited to bring small instruments to accompany her.  Writer and storyteller Helen feels passionately about the woods being kept free for public access, so she has named her event Keep the Trees Free and intends to donate a percentage of her profits to the Woodland Trust to show support for their work.
