May 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Only two years after calling television ads a waste of money, Century 21 is back on the air in a big way.

The company said in late March that it had bought a 30-second spot during the 2012 Super Bowl and also would run ads on the cable network TLC. Super Bowl spots attract the largest TV audience of the year and are expected to sell for more than $3 million.

The new campaign represents a sharp turn from early 2009, when Century 21 said it was pulling all national TV ads because they didn't work. At the time, Chief Marketing Officer Beverly Thorne said she was happy that RE/MAX was still spending money on TV ads.

"I don't think it's a cost-effective method of marketing, so I'd be happy to have my competitors spend money on it," Thorne told Real Estate Broker's Insider at the time.
