The Trium Group Partners with Bestselling Author for Added Expertise and Capability

Elite strategy consultancy welcomes Peter Sims as its newest Academic Partner
May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- SAN FRANCISCO—The Trium Group, the boutique management consulting firm that specializes in organizational transformation and strategy execution, announced that entrepreneur and bestselling business book author Peter Sims has teamed up with the firm as its newest Academic Partner.

Sims is widely recognized for helping leading public and private sector organizations and their leaders re-think how to operate and innovate more effectively.

His latest book, Little Bets: How Breakthrough Ideas Emerge from Small Discoveries, published in 2011 by Simon & Schuster’s Free Press, builds on historical research and 200+ interviews with leading innovators to find that the road to success is often paved by small experiments and missteps that help refine or reframe new ideas. Sims earlier co-authored the best-seller True North: Discover Your Authentic Leadership (2007) with former Medtronic CEO and Harvard Business School professor Bill George.

Sims is also a regular collaborator with faculty at Stanford’s Institute for Design (the d.school), and an advisor and speaker to organizations including Google, Eli Lilly, Pixar, Cisco Systems, and Stanford University. He’s also a frequent contributor to Harvard Business Review, The Financial Times, Fast Company, and Tech Crunch.

In working together, Trium and Sims see a mutually beneficial opportunity to leverage complementary intellectual property to help more organizations have greater positive impact on the world.

“Trium is committed to applying extraordinary horsepower to every client engagement, with broader aim to drive transformations and build more brilliant organizations,” said Andrew Blum, Trium’s Founder and Managing Partner. “I’m genuinely excited to work with Peter because I believe his research-backed perspective and roll-up-your-sleeves approach can have a profound impact on Trium and the organizations we serve.”

Added Sims, “I look forward to working with Trium to leverage Little Bets and True North material and research with the end goal of helping client organizations to get outside the rigidities that can lead to paralysis and stagnation, and instead achieve invention and renewal.”

Trium established its academic partner program in order to give more value to clients by bringing to bear the latest research and, at times, the people who actually led the research. The firm’s other academic partners include Dr. Jeffrey Pfeffer, Professor of Organizational Behavior at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, and Dr. Jennifer Chatman, Chair of the Management of Organizations Group at the University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Before writing his first book, Sims worked in venture capital with Summit Partners, and as a Business Analyst on the Deloitte Consulting global strategy team. He holds an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and an AB in Government & Legal Studies from Bowdoin College.
