Rogue Records America releases new Pimp X single

New single from Pimp X released after 3 year hiatus

May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- San Francisco, CA, May 25, 2011 – San Francisco based Rogue Records America has released the new single I’m Mad As Hell from Pimp X after the projects 3 year hiatus. The single shows a return to the projects original roots using samples from the 1973 film Network as the base of the story behind the name.
The single also takes the project on a different path, a nod to Drum  n Bass / Jungle electronica, something the project has only dabbled with in the past. “This cd may very well be the last for the project” says Dean Martinetti. “ I started the label to get the projects music out to the masses, it was an experiment in sound mostly…I think I’ve taken it as far as my abilities can at the moment”. The album DOsed is to be released August 28th of this year after facing a 3 year delay and a complete re-write just one month ago, things look to be on track for its deadline.
“This last album was tough to make because the past two were more about me thinking what people wanted to hear not what I wanted to hear…now I’ve gone and scrapped the whole album and thought…what would I want to listen to on a long drive from San Francisco to LA?....I think I got it on this one”
The single is available to stream on the labels website and the Pimp X Facebook page and for sale worldwide at over 133 digital aggregates including iTunes.

ABOUT ROGUE RECORDS:
Rogue Records Online was started on June 5th 2000 as a satellite company for Screamin Monkey Entertainment. Then, a small PC Games company based in Cliffside Park NJ. The label was started as a way to distribute soundtracks for the game titles Screamin would produce.

In August of 2000 the first release by a project called  DJj4 the cd was titled Boba Fett was put out for free to the world as a “Digital Only” album it was one of the first albums released solely on the internet. The album was downloaded worldwide and had 4 singles on the top 10 dance charts for Europe and America.

The label then picked up 3 local NY / NJ acts and distributed them hoping to build the catalog up. In 2003 all other artists except DJj4 were dropped. DJj4 was then changed to Pimp X and the label only focused on releases for that project and soundtracks for film, TV and videogames.

In 2004 Rogue Records and CDbaby partnered up for digital and retail distribution. The Pimp X albums were released to a larger audience.
In 2010 the label changed its name to Rogue Records America and switched distribution to Koch Media and The Orchard for its digital needs with a reach of over 233 countries around the globe on more than 130 digital aggregates alone Rogue Records America is looking forward to a way of distributing music online to the world and help artists achieve the success they are reaching for.

ABOUT PIMPX
The project started when the label started in 2000, at first it was to compose soundtrack music for games but then it soon began to take its own shape and form. Never having a “genre” to hole itself into the projects lead Dean Martinetti wanted the music to just organically grow out into the digital world. The idea at first was to have the music and the title of the song tell the story behind it but soon after soundclips from cult TV and Films were added to help drive the story points where need be. From Chillout / Ambient to experimental to Techno House and almost everything in between, the idea behind the Pimp X Project was to just create and experiment with sounds and see what happens.
