May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- DETROIT, M.I. – Fuel mileage is an important factor when purchasing any type of vehicle as gas prices continue to fluctuate. Many consumers are in need of a larger, more powerful vehicle whether for towing or carrying cargo.
With the new 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid, customers will not have to choose between the power and the fuel economy they need.
As the first two-mode Hybrid full-size pickup, the Chevy Silverado Hybrid offers fuel efficiency that has not been matched by other competitors.
The two-mode technology includes:
•   Mode 1: At low speeds and with light loads, Silverado Hybrid can operate three ways: electric power, engine power or in any combination of the two
•   Mode 2: Used primarily at highway speeds or when driving conditions demand, such as towing trailers and climbing steep grades. It provides an electric assist in addition to four-cylinder or full eight-cylinder power
With 20 mpg city and 23 mpg highway, the Silverado Hybrid delivers a higher fuel mileage options than other trucks in its class. The Silverado Hybrid gives owners 18 percent better city fuel economy than a Ford F-150 MI truck while the Chevy hybrid beats out the Ram 1500 with up to 43 percent better city fuel economy.
The Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid offers a powerful Vortec 6.0L V8 engine which has the capacity for:
•   332 horsepower
•   367 lb.-ft. of torque
•   Up to 6,100 lbs. of towing capacity
•   Up to 1,553 lbs. of payload capacity
Better fuel mileage and a powerful engine are both complimented by the technology available in the interior. Owners may enjoy the Chevrolet Wi-Fi by Autonet Mobile, which makes the Silverado Hybrid its own mobile hotspot for internet connectivity. Also, OnStar comes standard for six months. Other features include an available navigational system with touch-screen, CD and DVD capability.
Shoppers looking for the performance of a Chevy truck as well as fuel mileage won’t need to decide on which is more important and may find the whole package in the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid.
