May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- The management team of The Westmoor Club of Nantucket, MA, volunteered in a Habitat for Humanity project on Friday, May 13, 2011 in an effort to give back to the community. “The staff of The Westmoor Club all donate and give their time to community causes and recognizes the importance of supporting the local efforts where we all work, play and raise our families. And now coming together as a team to foster and strengthen the community was a unique and special experience for our team” said General Manager J. Brent Tartamella.

The one bedroom home, located 5 Pochick Ave., just off Surfside Ave. received its building permit on Nov. 24 and volunteers began work Thanksgiving weekend. This home is the organization’s fifth home to be built on the island since the first Habitat family home was completed in 2004.

Habitat for Humanity of Nantucket’s mission is to work toward the elimination of substandard housing and in the process build stronger families and a strong community. Furthermore, it is their goal that all of their words and actions are for the purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a way that inadequate housing and homelessness become unacceptable in our world, our nation and on our Island.
