Significant Amount of Clinical Trials For Vaccines in Asia: Kalorama Information

“Vaccines are a growth area for many pharmaceutical companies so it is not a surprise to see a large number of trials in Asia, similar to what we are seeing Europe and the U.S.,” said Bruce Carlson, publisher of Kalorama Information.

Throughout Asia, there are almost 450 trials currently underway or recently completed. Most of these trials are focused in  China and Japan, which are holding the highest concentration of trials with 75 and 63, respectively.  India currently has 53 trials.

“These nations have a good share of the pharmaceutical market in Asia, but we’ve also seen a good number of trials in Thailand and the Philippines,” said Carlson.
