May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Bourne-based Lark Energy (www.larkenergy.co.uk), part of the Larkfleet Group (www.larkfleetgroup.co.uk), has completed work on a 75 kWp photovoltaic (PV) panel installation at Spitfire Park.

Spitfire Park, an industrial estate on Northfield Road in Market Deeping, houses eco-friendly Larkfleet Group company Kestrel Timber Frame and specialist builders merchant Eco Building Products.

The photovoltaic panels installed at the site will produce electricity from daylight, generating useable power even on cloudy days.

The PV panels that were used are manufactured by Hyundai, the biggest manufacturer of photovoltaic panels in Korea. The project is the first time Hyundai PV panels have been used in a UK PV installation.

Lark Energy worked with Larkfleet Group member company FE Peacock (www.fepeacock.co.uk) to install the PV panels. FE Peacock is a MCS (Microgeneration Certified Scheme) accredited installer of PV panels and is experienced in installing panels on both residential and commercial buildings.

The installation consisted of fitting 250 Hyundai photovoltaic panels containing polycrystalline modules to the roof of a building on the site. The installation is estimated to produce 45 megawatt hours of energy each year.

The panels have been provided by Eco Building Products which has become an official importer and distributor of Hyundai PV modules.

Jonathan Selwyn, managing director of Lark Energy, commented: “We are delighted that this project will see the first installation of Hyundai panels in the UK.

“This installation will demonstrate how PV can work well in an industrial environment. Lark Energy and FE Peacock have a lot of experience in PV panel installations and we are delighted with the outcome.”

Lark Energy focuses on providing large scale PV for commercial applications. It also provides site-wide renewable energy solutions for new housing and commercial developments for the Larkfleet Group and for its partners and clients.
