Survey shows Conservatives to be out of touch with Home Owners

May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Just under 2000 Homebuyers were asked to take part in a survey by leading Home Report provider, Onesurvey.   95% of the respondents stated that they found the report useful before making an offer on a property and the majority also felt that Home Reports were a better system since their introduction.

Lenders were targeted by purchasers who felt that their inconsistent approach added confusion to the process.  This is due to Lenders not accepting a Home Report which is more than three months old, despite legislation stating there was no shelf life on a Home Report.   Lesley Sorridimi of Onesurvey commented   “This policy by lenders was perhaps understandable in the volatile markets of 2008 and 2009.  The housing market in Scotland is now very stable and has been for some time; therefore an extension to the three month period is long overdue.”    
 
The survey also highlights the Conservatives as being completely out of touch with Home Owners in Scotland, when David McLetchie, MSP, promised to abolish the Home Report despite this survey clearly showing that it is beneficial in a Scottish Market.

With Home Reports in their third year, the survey also showed that Home Reports are more widely accepted as the ‘norm’ and are being used as a useful tool in the home buying and selling process.
