Follow on Google News | Chicago Lighthouse’s Kane Legal Clinic Holds June 7th Benefit, “Blind Justice”The Kane Legal Clinic provides free legal services to blind or visually impaired people with low-incomes. This population typically requires representation in matters of: job discrimination, Social Security, tax matters, veteran's benefits, and more.
By: The Chicago Lighthouse “Blind Justice” is the theme of this special event and it will take place from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Sidebar Grille, 221 North LaSalle, on Chicago’s near north side. Named in honor of prominent Chicago attorney Arthur Kane and his wife, Esther, the clinic has been under the direction of retired Cook County Judge Nicholas Pomaro since its establishment in 2005. Judge Pomaro, who is totally blind, has assisted hundreds of other individuals who are blind or visually impaired with their legal problems pertaining to discrimination in housing, transportation, employment, social security and other matters. Tickets for “Blind Justice” are $75; $80 at the door. The ticket price includes cocktails and appetizers.
