About the Author: The first Korean accepted at Yale University, Ro Kong Kyun received a B.A. magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Yale in 1957, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business in l959, and a Ph.D. in economics from Yale in 1966. He participated in the Korean War as a R.O.K. Marine Liaison Officer and received an active combat ribbon. Dr. Ro has taught at State University of New York at Stony Brook, the University of Cincinnati, City College of New York, and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He is retired and now lives in Seoul, South Korea.
