Innovative test-drive event will yield much-needed money for booster club

Augusta, WI – Osseo Ford Sales and Service is bringing Ford Motor Company’s innovative Drive One 4 UR School program to the Augusta community in an effort to raise up to $6,000 for Augusta High School. For every person who test-drives a Ford vehicle at Augusta High School on June 2, Osseo Ford Sales and Service and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Augusta High School. Ford will also donate an additional $10 for a second test drive of the all-new 2012 Ford Focus, up to an additional $2,000.  The funds will go towards Augusta High School’s booster club to provide support to various student programs.

“We are thrilled to be hosting a Drive One 4 UR School event to help Augusta High School raise much needed funds for their Booster Club. All of us at Osseo Ford Sales and Service are looking forward to this opportunity to support extracurricular activities for students,” said Spencer Pederson, co-owner at Osseo Ford Sales and Service. “The event will also provide the community with the opportunity to take a test drive in some of our latest Ford vehicles, all while helping our local high school.” The event, which will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., will feature the Ford Explorer, Focus, Fiesta, Edge, F-150, Mustang and other available models.

Since the start of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2007, more than 275,000 test-drives at more than 1,500 events have generated over $5 million in donations for high schools nationwide. Locally, Osseo Ford Sales and Service hosted Drive One 4 UR School events in 2009 and 2010 and raised over $13,000.

In addition to raising much-needed revenue for high school extracurricular activities, the program gives participants the chance to experience Ford Motor Company’s exciting new vehicles and leading safety technologies, including:

•   MyKey™, a system that allows parents to limit a vehicle’s top speed and audio volume to encourage safe driving behavior in teens;
•   SYNC®, the fully integrated, in-vehicle voice-activated communications and entertainment system, updated with a “Do Not Disturb” button to block incoming calls and text messages and improved text message read-back capabilities so drivers can keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel;
•   Blind Spot Information System (BLIS™) with cross traffic alert, which uses radar to check the blind spot and helps notify the driver of approaching traffic when backing out of a parking spot; and,
•   Active Park Assist, a technology that helps drivers position the vehicle for parallel parking and then steer it into a parking spot without touching the steering wheel.
•   SmartGauge™ with EcoGuide is a unique instrument cluster designed to give hybrid owners a more connected driving experience by coaching them to further maximize the fuel efficiency of their hybrid vehicle.

The 2012 Ford Focus, the company’s most significant global nameplate, delivers smart features, spirited performance and 40 mpg fuel economy packaged in modern, European-inspired design finishes. The all-new Focus Titanium model promises to appeal to drivers shifting from larger, premium vehicles looking for sporty handling; while the high-performance Focus ST with turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost™ power will get enthusiasts' hearts racing.

To participate, please visit Augusta High School between 9:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. on June 2.

Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. There is a limit of one test-drive per household.
