FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHILDREN’S GARDEN OF LABELLE
EARNS NATIONAL ACCREDITATION

LaBelle, Fla., May 24, 2011 – The Children’s Garden of LaBelle has earned accreditation from the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs (NAC).
The center, operated by Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc., is among only four child care centers in LaBelle to have earned the designation, which honors centers that have met national standards of quality.
“The Children’s Garden of LaBelle is very honored to be recognized for our efforts to provide exceptional child care education for our children.  This demonstrates to parents that we have earned the Gold Seal for quality child care programs from the State of Florida,” said Children’s Garden of LaBelle Director Sonya Flores.  To view Gold Seal requirements and a list of centers that have earned the accreditation, visit www.dcf.state.fl.us/programs/childcare
The Children’s Garden of LaBelle, located on State Road 80, is licensed to care for 47 children from one to eight years old.  Enrollment is now open for the Voluntary Pre-K program, which begins August 22.  Hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
"Accreditation is not meant to replace parents' on-site visits to centers as a means of selecting the program that best meets their child's needs," Flores said, "but accreditation does help parents recognize the varied components that should be present in a quality program."
The accreditation process included a self-study process, an on-site observation at the center by an early childhood education professional and an assessment of the center’s curriculum and operating procedures.

The Children’s Garden of LaBelle  is among six child care centers operated by Child Care of  Southwest Florida, Inc.  The private non-profit organization provides high quality child care services in Hendry and Lee counties from infancy through age eight.   In addition to providing child care, Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc., conducts and coordinates training for early childhood educators, and administers the federal food program for child care centers and family child care homes in 14 counties.
