Twongo Partners With The V Foundation Through The Power Of Team Giving Initiative

Cary, N.C.-Based Startup Company Leverages Group Buying And Social Media To Benefit Cancer Research

Through this initiative, Twongo will sell tickets for the chance to win a Leith BMW 128i at the Jimmy V 2011 Reverse Raffle taking place Friday, Aug. 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Raleigh Convention Center, located at 500 S. Salisbury St. At the event, ticket holders will enjoy heavy hors d’ouvres, a cash bar, random prize drawings, a silent auction and chance to participate in side raffles throughout the evening. Each raffle ticket purchased via Twongo will provide the purchaser with a family four-pack of gallery tickets to the 18th Annual Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic on Sunday, Aug. 28 as well. The Power of Team Giving is a program through which Twongo partners with one regional nonprofit or charity cause each month in its Triangle and Wilmington, N.C., and Kelowna, Vancouver, Vernon and Whistler, British Columbia, Canada markets. In addition to direct donations resulting from group buying promotions, a portion of Twongo’s local gross revenues for the month are contributed to the nonprofit. Some of the company’s past Power of Team Giving partnerships have benefited many causes, including the Michael J. Gressman Brain Tumor Research Fund, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Triangle/Eastern NC Chapter and United Way of the Greater Triangle.
