devolo Launches New Generation dLAN 500 AV- The Fastest Home Network Via Powerline

May 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Powerline networking specialist devolo has launched its next generation technology – the dLAN 500 series.  Featuring transmission speeds of up to 500 Mbps, the new range exceeds the speed of a classic Fast Ethernet-based cable connection for the first time and permits up to four HDTV streams to be transmitted simultaneously.

Connecting computers, consumer electronics and other digital devices located anywhere in the home with a network connection, the dLAN 500 adapters are particularly well suited to high performance home networks that access high-speed Internet connections such as VDSL and fibre-optic networks.

With automatic data prioritisation, the dLAN 500 range ensures interference-free video transmission and Internet phone calls can take place, even if more than one person is surfing the Internet at the same time. Connecting the adapters to the network is easy; simply press a button on the adapter via 128-bit AES encryption to ensure maximum levels of data security for network users.

Based on the international IEEE 1901 standard, the dLAN 500 generation is fully compatible with all corresponding standardised powerline adapters, enabling owners of the dLAN 200 range to integrate the dLAN 500 products easily into their existing network.  The new generation technology is also energy efficient, complying with the EuP standard for 2013.

The first two products available in the new series are the dLAN 500 AVmini and the dLAN 500 AVplus. The dLAN 500 AVmini network kit is retailing at £169.99 including three HomePlug adapters. The dLAN 500 AVmini starter kit (featuring two adapters) is retailing at £119.99 and the standalone version is also available at a retail price of £64.99. The dLAN 500 AVplus network kit is retailing at £189.99, the starter kit is retailing at £139.99 and the standalone version is also available at a retail price is £74.99.  All products include the devolo 3-year warranty.
