Gilda's Club Seattle is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, established in 2001 in honor of the late comedienne Gilda Radner. The organization provides free support services for men, women, teens and children who are living with cancer, along with their family members and friends. In the ten years since opening, they have served people on more than 130,000 occasions. For more information visit http://www.gildasclubseattle.org/
Sanjaya Malakar is eager to donate his time to the event. "I've had a lot of experience with people with cancer, really close people that have died," Malakar explained, "So it's close to my heart to be able to do something like this."
The "Songs for June" fundraising event will honor the memory of June Draeger-Otis, who was a member of Gilda's Club Seattle. A silent auction will accompany the performances, which run from 9-11 PM. All proceeds from the event will benefit Gilda's Club Seattle.
Reserved space for the June 14th "Songs for June" benefit is limited. Admittance to the event and participation in the silent auction can be ensured by registering with a $25 donation to Gilda’s Club Seattle at http://www.gildasclubseattle.org/
