Ever Dreamed of Running Away and Joining the Circus?
The City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department is giving it’s summer day campers the opportunity to do just that! Along with the local Circus Stars of Nojoe’s Clown Circus the campers will take to the circus ring for a week full of training, learning, and performing. Nojoe’
s Clown Circus is a nationally touring show that will visit 15 states and perform over 500 shows across the U.S. in 2011. “We are so honored to have the opportunity to share our arts with the children in our home town” , said Joey Thurmond owner of Nojoe’s Clown Circus. Campers will get to try their hand at circus acts and arts like, juggling, balancing, hula hoops, wire walking, rola bola, poi, chair stacking, trapeze, stilt walking, unicycle riding, and of course clowning. “The camp is an experience for the children but, it is also a team building exercise” said Joey. “At the end of the week the campers utilize our equipment and perform their show that is open to the public. The Campers choose which acts will be performed, music, lighting, and production”, said Joey. The Circus camp will be during the week of June 20-24. Registration for the Summer Camp Program began April 1st.
