PRLog - May 23, 2011 - MIAMI -- Miami Shores, Fla.  ¬– May 23, 2011 ¬– Moss & Associates has been awarded the contract to design and build a new $14 million student residence hall on the Miami Shores campus of Barry University. Construction is expected to start in June 2011 and completion is slated for August 2012.

The 72,000 square-foot three-floor student-housing complex is being built on 5.7 acres and will be developed around a central courtyard. The suite-styled residence hall will offer single and double rooms, five resident assistant rooms, and one resident staff apartment. Additionally the dormitory will include a café/convenience-store retail site and a multi-purpose meeting / multi-media room.

Moss & Associates has selected Cannon Design as their design partner for this marquee project. "Having completed several successful projects with Cannon Design, it made perfect sense to team up with Cannon Design. Their sense of architecture and expertise in student housing is sure to integrate today's relevance of student living with the architectural style inspired by the original campus buildings built in the 1940s." said Moss Vice President, Brett Atkinson.

“We are thrilled to be working together with Barry University on this project which will bring much needed additional housing to the University,” said Moss Sr. Project Manager, Sherry Werner. “Our team has an outstanding track record in construction projects for higher education institutions throughout South Florida including the University of Miami and Nova University and we are glad we can bring our specialized knowledge to Barry University.”
