During a news conference attended by North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue, Lenovo announced the new jobs at its campus in Morrisville, N.C to help meet the growing needs of its customers, both locally and worldwide.
Through its industry-leading customer services, ACS will support Lenovo customers in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand via telephone, e-mail and web chat. ACS will handle customer inquiries, providing technical support, service order management, coordination of service and parts dispatches and customer escalations. ACS and Xerox employ 3,600 people in North Carolina, including approximately 2,300 people in the greater Raleigh area.
The agreement comes on the heels of Lenovo’s proven business momentum. The company has outpaced the overall PC market for eight consecutive quarters, making it the fastest-growing major PC company for the past six quarters in a row1.
In addition to the 300 jobs announced today, Lenovo’s Global Services team is also adding an additional 100 new positions in multiple locations around the world in cities including Bratislava, Beijing and Bangalore.
Lenovo’s Global Services Business Expansion
Lenovo’s Global Services business provides services and maintains relationships with customers in more than 180 countries. Global Services offers an array of technology support services, including warranty and protection, factory services, online data backup, asset recovery and financial services. These offerings span the product lifecycle, helping customers reduce downtime, increase productivity, protect data, finance purchases and guard against equipment obsolescence. Lenovo leverages internal and partner capabilities to provide best-in-class service support to customers around the world.
