Jason is also a professional still photographer, and his specialty is photographing works of art and craft for artists and craftsperson’s, including ceramics, jewelry, sculpture and furniture.
“Creating a photograph is like writing a poem.  I may think I know what I want to say when I start out, but I always discover something new in the process of unfolding, and in the end I arrive at a place I know, yet see it in a new light.  My photographs most often focus on worlds or objects in transition, a building decaying, a storm gathering, a river flowing.  Everything is on its way to becoming something else, and so beauty enters the world.”

Larry Favorite was a Mechanical Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona when he decided to "step off the fast track" and become an artist. Listening to his "inner voice", he searched for a medium in which to express his emerging creativity. He discovered desert ironwood, a nearly-petrified wood lying n the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. Favorite spent 30+ years modifying tools and refining techniques to sculpt, sand, and polish this dense wood. He augments the natural beauty of the wood by painstakingly inlaying silver and turquoise stones into each finished piece. Favorite currently maintains a studio in Mebane, NC. www.favoritedesigns.com

“I derive my greatest satisfaction as an artist from the shear joy of doing- of being at one with the wood and releasing the beauty that is within. I love the challenge of looking at and listening to a piece of wood and letting it reveal to me what it should be. I have a tremendous sense of inner piece about my life and my work, and hope that those who touch the pieces of art I have created can feel this in the work itself.”
