May 20, 2011 - PRLog -- London - MPS Limited, a Macmillan company, is working closely with Ingram Content Group's VitalSource Technologies in the run-up to the launch of the new ePub3 standard at BookExpo America (BEA).

MPS is supporting Ingram as it readies its VitalSource Technologies platform, the preferred and most used e-textbook and content delivery platform in the industry, to take advantage of the new opportunities ePub3 and HTML5 offer.

Over the 12 years that Ingram's VitalSource has been providing educational e-books to major educational publishers, the company has overcome inherent limitations in accessibility, multimedia, and math implementation of earlier e-book standards while keeping their publisher clients' workflows simple and relevant.

MPS, which formally announced its new ePub3 and HTML5 services in April at the London Book Fair, will support the new ePub3 workflow of Ingram and its clients as well as continuing to convert and QA content destined for the robust and evolving VitalSource platform.

The two companies will continue their long-standing technological and research-based collaboration to better guide their publisher clients as the industry starts to adopt ePub3 and HTML5.

Rajiv Seth, MD and CEO of MPS, commented: "We are delighted to be able to support our valued partner Ingram as it moves to support ePub3. Both ePub3 and HTML5 promise huge benefits for the publishing industry and we look forward to using our technological expertise to enable our clients and those of Ingram to take advantage of these opportunities."

"To maintain our position as the leading e-textbook and content delivery platform in the industry, VitalSource is moving quickly to support ePub3," said Kent Freeman, President, VitalSource Technologies Inc., an Ingram Content Group company. "We will continue to work closely with publisher services companies like MPS to help them take advantage of the rich media capabilities that have long been a part of the VitalSource e-textbook solution."
