May 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Florida-based publisher Aqueous Books announces its second 2011 publication The Other Shore by critically-acclaimed Israeli editor Fred Skolnik.  His first published novel, the book is set in Israel in the 1980’s during a pivotal time in Israel’s development into a consumer society.

The Other Shore is set in Israel in the 1980's, between the Lebanese War and the outbreak of the first Intifada (1984-1989), a pivotal time which saw the final transition of Israel from a Zionist-socialist society to a Western-style consumer society. The novel follows the lives of representative characters across the entire breadth of Israeli society but focuses on two families – the Shachars, a kibbutz family, and the Goldsteins, representing the emerging Israeli middle class. The protagonists in effect vie to win the heart and soul of Israel itself, personified by the beautiful Ariela.

The book is currently available for pre-order from the Aqueous Books website at http://www.aqueousbooks.com/publications.htm and will be available from Ingram Books upon release. The Other Shore will also be available from Amazon both in paperback and for Kindle.
